Austin Psych Fest 3, UNKLE, ATP NY

The Black Angels and the Reverberation Appreciation Society are proud to present Austin Psych Fest 3 April 23-25 2010 at The Mohawk in Austin TX. The Black Angels collaborated with UNKLE on a new track to be released on the UK mastermind's newest album, ""Where Did the Night Fall", due in March. The album also features performances Mark Lanegan, Autolux and Sleepy Sun. "Natural Selection", featuring The Black Angels, has just been released as a free download - check it out on unkle.com

Summer festivals are approaching. The Black Angels are playing All Tomorrows Parties New York 2010 on Labor Day Weekend, September 3-5. Sunday's lineup is curated by legendary film-maker Jim Jarmusch and includes The Black Angels, The Wooden Shjips and Brian Jonestown Massacre, adding to a killer weekend lineup that includes Iggy Pop, Sleep, Sonic Youth and Explosions in the Sky. Austin Psych Fest 2 DVD, Christmas Cacophony, Wolfmother Tour

Join us for our annual holiday party - Christmas Cacophony @ The Mohawk in Austin, Texas on Saturday Dec 19th. The Austin Psych Fest 2 film is being screened at 8pm, followed by music from Shapes Have Fangs, The Viet Minh, Ghost Songs and Horse + Donkey. Bring a toy or other new children's item for donation to the Dell Children's Medical Center.

Wolfmother Tour, Austin Psych Fest, New Merch

We'll be heading back to the UK & Europe to open for Wolfmother in January and February. Check the SHOWS section for tour dates. We've also got a new t-shirt design and 2 new limited edition posters for sale in the store.

Fall Plans

We'll be heading over to Europe at the end of August for a couple festivals. When we return in September we'll be heading back to LA to finish the 3rd album.

Then in October we'll be touring down the east coast with The Raveonettes. See you soon!

Recording in LA

We'll be heading out to LA for a couple months to record the 3rd album with Dave Sardy. We'll be back in Texas this summer, then we plan to start touring again once we release the 3rd album.

Roky, The Warlocks, and Recording

We're back in Austin for the rest of the Summer and will be getting started on recording the 3rd album. Our tour with the Warlocks was amazing. Getting to tour with one of our favorite bands was like a dream come true! Theyre all very talented individuals. We'll be heading out with Roky Erickson this fall, so we'll be busy practicing with him for the next couple months getting a setlist ready to go! So we'll see y'all soon.

BRMC and New Album

We just got back from out west to meet up with BRMC in Scottsdale, AZ and LA, CA for 2 shows. We also added a show at The Beauty Bar in Las Vegas; thanks to everyone for coming out.

In other news, our new album 'Directions to See a Ghost' is set to be released digitally on April 15th
and in record shops on May 13th. A special limited edition 4 song EP will be available
for those who purchase the digital version of 'Directions to See a Ghost'.

Live Music Capitol and The Black Angels present the First Annual Austin Psych Fest, March 8th, at the Red Barn, a new music & arts venue dedicated to the heritage of Austin as the birthplace of psychedelic music. Inspired by the Vulcan Gas Company, we hope to resurrect the spirit of the sane-minded individual through psychedelic music, visuals, and art.

Open up your mind and let it all come thru. Invite a friend, because March 8th marks the dawn of a new era, when the doors of perception will be opened, and Austin will see again. The Barn opens at Noon. Performing bands include:

Houston & Dallas - 'Dirt Road to Psychedelia'

We'll be visiting our neighbors in Houston & Dallas at the end of November to premier the new film by Scott Conn, Dirt Road to Psychedelia (view at MySpace), about Austin, Texas during the 1960's. Along with us will be The Strange Boys.

Fall 2007 Tour

We'll be heading westward Sept. 26th starting in Arizona & working our way up the coast to San Francisco for the Download Festival. Special appearances by Spindrift & Brian Glaze and the Night Shift along the way...

Then we head east on Oct. 12 - Oct. 25 supporting Queens of the Stone Age.

On Oct. 29 we'll meet back up with Spindrift, to bring the show to the East coast...from Birmingham to Boston.

Fall Tour

In October, we'll be heading up the West Coast again and back through the Midwest towards Montreal. We're looking forward to touring with The Tyde whose new record 'Three's Co.' comes out in the US today. Most of the dates for this trip have been set, but there may be a few more additions in the future. Check the shows list for detail on all of the dates.

Starting in New York, we'll be joining up with The Black Keys at the Nokia Theater for the CMJ Music Marathon. Over the next few weeks, we'll be traveling with The Black Keys down the East Coast to Atlanta and then back to the Midwest, ending in Cleveland. Check the shows list to see if we'll be hitting your town along the way.

Merch Update and New Photos

We've got some new merch available in the store. Our black and grey t-shirts are available again, you can buy the UK-only 7-inch single for The First Vietnamese War, and we've added the limited edition screen-printed poster Christian did for the July 16, 2006 show with Blue Cheer at Emo's in Austin.

We've also added some new photos taken at the Capitol Hill Block Party in Seattle by Narisa Spaulding.
